Budgeting

So this is not a surprise to most people but I'm pretty much addicted to shopping and spending money. I'm pretty sure that most of my money is spent on eating out, I have been eating out for every lunch that I eat and then I have been eating out for dinner frequently as well. But that is not to say that I'm not spending in other areas as well. I window shop online almost everyday, Etsy is sorta like an addiction for me, I'm in love with vintage dresses and cute headbands and I'm always looking for new cute things for my house. I also spend way more than I'm willing to admit on iTunes! But that is all about to change. Starting with this payday I'm paying off a loan and starting to pay my tithing again. I have set up a budget and I'm going to stick to it. I'm reading Dave Ramsey's book "The total money makeover" I'm only on chapter two but I can already tell that this is really going to help me. I need to get past the thought that I somehow deserve to buy my self things and get more into the mind set that I work hard for the money I make and I want it to work for me, I'm tired of being a slave to material things. I'm tired of feeling like I somehow need to keep up with others. Dave Ramsey has a motto that says "If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else". So this is me making public that if I turn you down for dinner or a movie that it is not because I don't like you it is because I need to get my finances in order and get some savings and I think I will need to be on several no spending weeks to get the hang of not "needing" everything I see:) Wish me luck!

I know! I swear that not spending money makes you anti-social. It drives me crazy.

Good luck! We're a big fan of Dave Ramsey in our family. I hope you're able to stick to the budget and find it was worth the hard work and lack of eating and socializing.
